Dennis Davis Bucking Bulls – Customizing the Approach to Partnership

Partnerships’ Variety Garners Success in the Bucking Stock Industry #3

By offering training, housing and hauling to events, Dennis Davis provides folks with the opportunity to be involved in bucking bull sports at their own level of commitment.

Dennis Davis owns and operates Dennis Davis Bucking Bulls in Orchard, Texas.  Davis specializes in training, caring for and hauling bucking bulls for competition.  Partnership is a big part of his business.  For Davis, it is important that these partnerships be individualized to best accommodate the level of commitment desired by his clients.

“Partnership allows people with no ranch, no truck, no trailer to be involved in the bucking bull industry,” said Davis of the opportunity he offers.  “It’s about sharing the passion for bucking bulls with others who share that passion no matter where they live.  If they are interested in the bucking bull business, I offer them an opportunity to go in together on the ownership of a bull.”

Davis provides clients with an agreement that will allow them to make the level of commitment with their bull that best suits their interests.  Investments range from 50 percent interest to 100 percent interest and clients are presented with a variety of choices of bulls to choose from.  The housing and training of the bulls is provided by Davis for which there is a monthly fee.

“I am involved with all ages and levels of competition bulls from yearling and futurity bulls to rider bulls in classic, derby and team event,” Davis told us.  “I offer event-by-event agreements and I handle all stock contractor duties.”

Davis enters events all over the country including top tier ABBI competitions and the Million Dollar Bull Team Challenge.  He is happy to have partners attend events, but it is not a necessary part of the agreement.

His experience as a bull rider, trainer for Billy Jayne’s Exclusive Genetics program and the President of Bucking Bull Games, and his sincere interest in the people he works with, has made Davis highly respected in the bucking bulls business.

Dennis Davis Bucking Bulls grew out of Davis’ association with Billy Jaynes and The Jaynes Gang/Exclusive Genetics.  Davis trained and hauled competition bulls for The Jaynes Gang, eventually being named by Jaynes as President of the Bucking Bull Games.  When Jaynes left the bucking bull business, Davis leased the Exclusive Genetics Ranch and has built a reputation as a premiere buck bull trainer.
