Rob Smets, a 5-time bullfighting champion, worked the arena with the champion bulls. One stood out above the rest.

When his career as a bull rider came to an end, Cory Melton joined up with his father, Gene, who was a stock contractor and manager for Howard Tally’s Circle T Ranch and Rodeo. Melton’ father, Gene, credits Cory with the acquisition of the bull that became one of the greatest bulls in the history of the sport of bull riding. It was Cory who saw the potential of the 1400 pound brindle bull he’d seen buck at an event in Kansas. Cattle should be moved relatively stress free though the pens/alley ways; you also need to be able to restrain the animal with a squeeze chute; and a palpation cage needs to be attached to the chute. The squeeze chute should be covered to protect the embryos and technician from weather. It is also recommended that you have an enclosed room that is temperature controlled and has electricity. This room should also be in close proximity of the squeeze chute to serve as the “laboratory” for the embryologist to search, grade and freeze the embryos.
