For any breeding program in the bucking bull industry to stand out, there has to be a legacy of outstanding bucking bulls with outstanding bucking bull stats.  For the Coffey breeding program, that legacy happened, in a large part, thanks to the partnership with Sammy Andrews.

Andrews knew great bulls and he knew how to promote them.  He hauled Skat Kat to the best bull ridings and put him on display.  Skat Kat did the rest.  A multiple qualifier for the NFR and PBR Finals, Skat Kat was two time PRCA Bucking Bull of the Year.

“He was a small bull and he had big horns,” said Andrews.  “The little devil bucked every time.  He never had a bad trip.”  Andrews continued, “He had quickness.  He was pretty quick in everything he did.”

Skat Kat used that quickness not only on bull riders, but on the other bulls in Andrews’ herd.

“He was very aggressive,” Andrews told us.  “Every time I brought in a new bull, Skat Kat would be right there quick to meet him at the gate.  He had that Little Man syndrome.”

The bull with the Little Man syndrome has been as successful as a sire as he was a bucker.

“I bred to him.  I got some heifers and a couple of bulls,” said Andrews.  “That bull has produced for a lot of people.”

As ABBI’s #1 Sire by Historical Earnings and an ABBI Super Stakes Sire, Skat Kat can claim offspring with outstanding records of their own.  Not only has he produced impressive futurity bulls, his sons have moved up through the levels to make their own reputation in the top ranks of bull riding.

The Coffey program produced him.  Sammy Andrews promoted him.  Skat Kat turned out to be one of the most successful collaborations in the bucking bull industry.
